Clay Country Amblers Walking Group

A very warm welcome to the Clay Country Amblers website. We are a friendly and informal walking group with lots of local knowledge. The walks, inland and coastal, are all located within an 8-mile radius of St Austell and are for people who love getting outside, exploring our fantastic countryside and coastline and meeting like-minded people. We often get 20-25 people at a time, so you can always find someone to chat with.

Clay Country Amblers is free to join with no membership required and you can just turn up on the day and walk.

We welcome all ages and abilities to join us. It’s fair to say that the average age of our walkers is somewhere north of 60. As long as you are able to walk between three to four miles, have appropriate walking boots or shoes and come prepared for the weather, anyone can take part. All of our walks can be completed in less than two hours. There are always a number of short rest stops and one long enough to enjoy some refreshment. Nobody gets left behind!

Currently, we have a programme rota of 16 different walks that are all held on Tuesday mornings, starting at 10am.

All walks are 'Graded' to give an indication of the difficulty of the walk. Wherever possible, we use footpaths, trails and country lanes.

All walkers are responsible for their own safety and well-being and are not covered by any insurance
